Beauty Tips You Need to Follow Now

We all want beautiful, glowing skin. Very few people are blessed with naturally clear, healthy skin. For the rest of us, we need to put in some effort to achieve that. It’s never too early to start taking care of your skin. Below are some simple yet effective tips that you can include in your skin care routine to see some difference in your skin.

  1. Use Products According To Your Skin Type

Till about two years back I didn’t know my skin type. I would use any product that looked pretty or smelled nice. Most of the products would work on my skin or would make my skin more oily or more dry (read – I have combination skin). Now I have been using products for my skin type and trust me it has made a huge difference.

  1. Follow A Skincare Routine

Be it morning or night, you must have a skincare routine that you follow religiously every day. Try out different routines and products till you find one suitable for you. It can include Cleansing, Toning, Hydrating with Serums, Moisturizing etc. I have a few products that I use in the morning only and few only at night. I typically do a cleansing ->deep cleansing -> hydrating with serum -> moisturising routine with a few variations depending on how my skin is feeling.

  1. Keep Sipping on Liquids

You might be hearing this for the millionth time, but it does really work wonders for your skin. Starting from a few months before my wedding, I increased my intake of fluids it did make my skin glow. You can include homemade flavoured water, coconut water, green tea, fresh juices, just not soda.

  1. Don’t Forget Your Eyes

While taking care of your skin and applying a ton of different products, you may sometimes tend to neglect your eyes. They are the most sensitive part of your face and the only place which gets wrinkles and lines the earliest. So keep them hydrated. You don’t need to be 30 to start applying eye creams. Just start off with a simple moisturizing under-eye cream.

  1. Don’t Forget Your Neck and Chest Area Either

Skin on your neck and check is equally important as the rest of your body. You don’t need a separate product for this area. Just when you are applying your usually moisturiser, bring it down a little over to the neck and chest. Make this a part of your daily skin care routine.

  1. Prim Your Feet

Let’s face it, in our everyday busy lives, we are unable to go for our regular manis and pedis. Keep your feet pretty and shiny by doing a weekly at-home manicure/ pedicure. You can do it while catching up on your favourite TV show at night or while browsing a magazine. It saves time AND money.

  1. Keep Skin Hydrated While Travelling

Airplane air recycled and sucks out the moisture from your skin. Apply an intense moisturizer before flying. Keep a hydrating mist handy and spritz it at regular intervals. Avoid make up if possible. If you are going to have a long flight, keep a small travel kit handy with a moisturiser, eye cream, hand cream, sanitizer etc. And don’t don’t forget to apply SPF.

  1. Do Not Lick Your Lips

Well, no one does it intentionally but many a times when your lips get dry, licking them to provide a little moisture may seem like a good idea. But saliva increases the dryness. Keep a lip balm handy instead.

  1. Do Not Workout With Makeup On

You might want to look pretty at the gym but you must take off all traces of makeup before you work out. Working out with makeup on can increase the build-up of oil and that results in clogged pores. Sweating opens up pores and when there’s a layer of makeup on top of it, combined with dirt and bacteria, it can lead to breakouts.
