Liquid lipsticks have been quite the rage these days. They come in a gloss-like packaging but once applied, they settle matte on your lips. They don’t have the glossy, shinny texture, with hardly any staying power of a lip gloss. They have super long staying power, do not smudge and are extremely pigmented.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Mattes have been in the market for a while now. They are easy to apply. Feel very light on the lips, more like velvet, as the name suggests. With two coats, they give a very opaque coverage. You can layer them as much because they dont appear flaky at all. Once they have dried, they set matte with a powdery finish. These babies do not settle on to fine lips. They are not very drying on the lips either. Though they don’t have too many shades in this range but the shades that are there range from pretty bright corals to my-lips-but-better nudes.
I have 3 shades from the range 02 Frambourjoise, 05 Ole Flamingo! and 04 Peach Club. Peach Club is my most loved one. I was highly impressed with their staying power. I was on a beach trip with the girls, applied the lipstick it in the morning before leaving the hotel, swam in the beach, ate lunch, drank, came back to the hotel in the evening and the lipstick was still there, with very little fading !!
Price: I bought mine from feelunique.com for £8.99.
