I would not think twice before saying that watching beauty videos on Youtube is my favourite passtime. I do follow a few Youtubers religiously. I like watching their vlogs, tutorials, fashion look books etc. Here is a list of my favourite Youtubers.
- Vivianna Does Makeup
A self-confessed ‘makeup maven, product pusher and lacquer lover’, Anna serves up a daily dose of beauty wit and wisdom with an editorial edge. Accompanied by twice weekly YouTube videos, she’s friendly, frank, and with the ability to spot a trend a mile off, delivers a compulsive guide to all things beauty. If you are anything like me, you like to sit down to a good scroll on Instagram after a hectic day while watching a few YouTube clips, and reading the daily posts from your fave bloggers. Anna, in my opinion has mastered the art of and Youtube. She is 100% personable, genuine and honest. Her makeup looks are relatable and easy to follow and she comes across as a breath of fresh air at a time when Youtube is full of OTT makeup lovers and highlight-contour fanatics. Apart from doing beauty videos, her Youtube channel is replete with her very own wellness and fitness journey as she documents her love for spin class and workout leggings.
- Lilly Pebbles
A self-taught beauty expert, Lily posts daily on her website and uploads 3 YouTube videos a week, focusing on a refreshing mix of beauty, style and city life. Infact the very reason I got hooked on to beauty and makeup and Youtube was her. Hers was the beauty video that I ever saw on YouTube. Her videos are a perfect blend of class and understated style- think, dewy skin, the perfect nude lipstick and perhaps a marble backdrop. Her weekly vlogs give an insight into London life and her beauty recommendations are upto the point almost every time. Hers are the most thorough reviews I have seen.
- Ingrid Nilsen
Also one of the first few YouTubers that I started following, Ingrid, in her videos covers topics such as fashion, lifestyle and make-up. I regularly tune in to her channel for everything-from her spin on holiday hot chocolate recipes to her monthly updates on beauty essentials to her recent collaborations with Cover Girl and her cutesy take on makeup. I think she has great personal style- casual chic pieces which are wearable and makeup looks that are easy to recreate and skin care tips that are easy to follow. Watching her videos is akin to stepping into a dressing room with a peppy, accessory-obsessed friend.
- Essie Button/ Estee Lalonde
One look at this bubbly Youtuber’s channel is enough to get any one hooked to her not-so-subtle, honest and chirpy style. Her unbiased opinions on all things beauty, accompanied with a naïve sense of humour, edgy personal style are what makes her channel, or moreover her videos such a treat to watch. Her content is edgy and spontaneous. Estée isn’t a professionally trained make-up artist that just makes her videos all the better for beauty beginners. Her classic make-up tutorials are easy to do. She is known to keep it real- giving the trademark fresh everyday makeup look a twist with either glam red lip or the classic winged liner and sometimes a pop of coral on the cheeks.
- Amelia Liana
Amelia Liana is relatable, hilarious and the kind of girl we want to be friends with. Her no fuss take on smokey eyes and Kadarshian-clan inspired makeup tutorials are what got me hooked to her channel. Her content is informative and practical with a stylish theme. Her videos have a relaxed vibe to them. She uses a mix of drugstore and high-end make up products in her make up tutorials- Loreal, Milani, Maybelline, Channel, Charolette Tilbury being some of her favourite brands. Add to that her amazing fashion videos featuring try on clothing hauls, baking videos and travel vlogs- hers is a channel you’ve got to a take a peek at on YouTube.
- Kaushal Beauty
This British born- Indian origin Youtuber has hundreds and thousands of followers and subscribers. She is a dedicated beauty guru who puts up in-depth makeup tutorials with detailed information on all the products that she uses. She also puts up special videos for events like Indian wedding receptions, Mehndi functions, Diwali parties and also recreates popular Bollywood looks. Along with makeup videos, her vlogs include essential skin care hacks, and entertaining vlogs where you can follow this fashionista on her adventures. She has definitely raised the bar as far as desi Youtubers are concerned.
- Jaclyn Hill
If you have not already heard of Jaclyn Hill, beauty vlogger and co-creator of the limited edition shade of BECCA’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Champagne Pop, it would be in your best interest to do so ASAP. There are so many reasons to love her, aside from her perfect contouring and highlighting skills. She has broken Sephora’s record for most purchased product on its first day of release and has locked down 2016 as the launch for her signature makeup line which would be an extension to the Champagne Pop family. She is known to take risks when it comes to makeup and creates looks which range from full on glamour, glitter and edgy-isque to easy everyday no fuss make up looks. Her hauls also vary from high-end make up to affordable drugstore products.
