Festive Makeup Routine – High End Edition

This is a much delayed post. With Diwali just round the corner and all the card parties going on till wee hours of the morning, the least we want to worry about is having our make up fade. So in today’s post I have created a festive makeup look with high end makeup products.

For the base I start with the Benefit Pore Professional Primer. It is a light- weight primer with a very silky texture. It keeps my makeup in place for at least a good 6-7 hours.

I then go on to apply my foundation. I used the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation. It is a very long lasting foundation with a medium to heavy coverage, yet it feels very natural when applied.

All the dark spots usually get covered when I apply this Chanel foundation, so I apply the Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer (read full review here) just under my eyes in a triangle shape to brighten the entire area and hide any under eye circles.

So finally to set everything in place, I apply my favorite powder from MAC, the Mineralize Skin Finish. It is a miracle product in my opinion. It doesn’t mattify the skin but leaves your face with a nice glow.

For the eyes I am using my Naked 3 palette. There are a ton of looks that you can create with this palette. I apply Limit (4th shade from left) all over my eyelids to give a soft wash of color. Then I go on to apply Burnout (3rd shade from left) on t3/4th of my eyelid starting from the inner corners. I then apply Liar (8th shade from left) on remaining 1/4th part of my eyelids to give some dimension to my eyes. Then I finish the look by using Nooner (7th shade from left) and applying very lightly on the crease line and blending the entire look together.

I finish the look by using the Revlon Color Stay liner on my upper lash line and loads of Benefit They’re Real Mascara (read full review here).

I have been loving the MAC Dollymix blush this party season. Its bright and festive and gives a nice pinky glow to my cheeks. But a little goes a long way with this one.

No festive look is complete without a highlighter. I use the Benefit Watt’s Up Highlighter (read full review here) on my cheekbones, on my nose, just under the arch of the eyebrows and above the cupids bows.

I am using the Bobbi Brown Carnation lipstick to keep things subtle and yet bright. It is nice peachy orangey coral.
