Can we take a moment here to appreciate the beauty that is this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette. 2 beautiful glowy powders, 1 highlighter, 2 blushes and 1 bronzer. What else does one need? This palette was released last year as a limited edition palette. I had a gift card from US Sephora, and I decided to use it very wisely. I wanted to invest in a high-end, all-in face palette and when I saw this on the Sephora website, I was sold.
The packaging is the same as all Hourglass products, a dull gold, plastic exterior. However, it is definitely not fingerprint-friendly. It has a large mirror. The products are finely milled, super soft and creamy. The pans are much smaller than the full sized products, but that isn’t a major concern for me as I never ever have finished a single blush till date. I like that I get to try so many different products in a single palette.
Starting from Top Left to Right, it contains Dim Light which is a neutral peach beige powder, Iridescent Strobe Light which is exclusive to this palette. It is a soft pink pearl sheer illuminating powder that gives a refined glow to the face. Next comes Diffused Light, which is a soft, warm, pale yellow powder that reduces redness. These powders blur imperfections and highlight the complexion. They can be used as setting powders or as a subtle highlight.
The second row contains Mood Exposure, which is a soft plum blush. It looks so pretty when applied. Luminous Flush, a champagne rose blush and is a great everyday blush shade. Luminous Bronze Light, a medium toned bronze shade fused with luminous light for softer, candlelit warmth. It has finely milled shimmer particles, that might not be most suitable for contouring, but I have used it to give definition to my face and it gives an amazing finish.
The palette costs 80 USD, which is approximately Rs. 5500, but it is worth the splurge. Read my US Sephora Haul here.
