This is my first post of 2016. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year. 2015 was a very good year for me. I got married, travelled to new places and I also started Love Fashion Makeup. I hope 2016 is also good to me. So lets start 2016 with my 2015 favorites. This is the first part of the post, which covers only makeup. The next post will be my 2015 Skincare Favorites.
Sorry for the bad pictures in this post. I am not a fan of the gloomy winter lighting. Also, I am very new to using a DSLR camera and a friend changed the setting of my camera so I am struggling to get my old settings back.
For Foundation I have been loving the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Teint Fluide Foundation. It gives me a very natural yet flawless coverage. I cannot stop raving about the Nars Creamy Concealer. It hides dark circles, any spots and also imperfections on my face. For Powder I don’t know how I have lived without the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Golden all this while. Even if I don’t have any makeup on, I just slap this on my face and it just even outs my complextion, giving it a subtle sheen.
For Blush, MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Dolly Mix is the one that I always reach out for when I have to give a nice rosy look to my cheeks. It gives a nice flush and goes very well especially with Indian clothes. Benefit Watt’s Up Soft Focus Highlighter is the one that I used mostly every single time I had to use a highlighter. It gives a soft champagne-like glow to my face.
To fill in my eyebrows, I have been using the Soap and Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow Filling Pencil and Brush. I am quite sad that it is not available in Sephora in Delhi. I think it is the perfect brow filling pencil. Neither too dark nor to light and has a brush on the other end. For Eyeliner, I am absolutely in love with the Lakme Absolute Shine Line. The brush is just perfect for easy application and I can make a winged eye with this in absolutely no time. I have been loving the Maybelline The Flasies Mascara. As the name suggests, it gives a very false eyelashes effect and makes them so curled.
I thought this needed a different category all together because I have three favorites. This year was all about Eye Shadow Sticks and I feel in love with the Lakme Absolute Drama Stylist Eye Shadow Crayon in Pink. They are so easy to apply and can also be used as eyeliners. I recently bought the Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow in Taupe and I cannot stop using it. It has very less color. It gives a nice sparkly effect to the eyes without looking over-the-top. It has absolutely no fallout. This year my sister gifted me the Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette and to my surprise, the eye shadows are so pigmented and buttery. The palette has got 18 shades – 12 shimmer shades and 6 matte shades. I love the shade range in this palette and would definitely be trying out more products from Makeup evolution.
The first time I applied the Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick, I fell in love. The pigmentation, color pay off, staying power, creamy-ness everything is just perfect. I regret not picking up more shades. I was never really a fan of Lip Pencils, but after using MAC Soar I have changed my mind. I use it alone sometimes, or put on a lipstick over it or a lip gloss. My favourtie nude combo was applying this lip pencil all over and topping it up with the Fleur de Force Lip Gloss in Written in the Stars. I have got so many compliments when I am wearing this combo.
So these were my favorite makeup products in 2015. I would love to know your go to 2015 makeup products. I have reviewed some of them in detail on my blog, do check them out. Also, please let me know if you want me to review any of these products in detail. My next post will feature my favorite skincare products of 2015.
