This is the second part of my 2015 Favorites series. In my first post I featured My 2015 Makeup Products (read full post here). This post is all about the skin. I do not try out too many products for my face, so most of the products mentioned here are probably my all time favorite skincare products.
I think those of you who follow my blog regularly would know that I am in love with Bioderma Micellar Water for taking off my makeup. This probably is my 5 or the 6th bottle. It is very gentle, yet it removes all traces of makeup from my face. I have been using The Body Shop Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish for years now. I love that it is a little scrubby and it deep cleanses my skin without stripping out the moisture.
Masks and scrubs are one thing that I like to experiment with more often. This year I have been loving the Forest Essentials Hand Pounded Organic Fruit Scrub. It is very gritty but completely natural. It gives my skin a nice glow after I have used it.
Nothing beats the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate for me when it comes to facial oils. I have tried two more from other high-end brands, but always go back to this one when I want my skin to feel moisturized and glowy the next morning.
Surprisingly, I did try out a few different moisturizers this year, but I love the Avene Rich Compensating Cream. I kept my skin moisturized the whole day. Even though it is a thick, rich cream, it did not feel very heavy on my skin. Since it does not contain SPF, I mix a few drops of the Loreal UV Perfect Aqua Esscence with it during the day.
For night time, I recently started using the Olay 7 effects night cream. I love the texture of this one. It is an excellent moisturizer for nighttime.
I used the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado two years back and used to really like it. Then I started noticing dark circles around my eyes so switched to some other eye cream. But now since my dark circles have gone, I have switched back to this one. It is a thick but water based cream for keeping the under eye area moisturized.
In 2015 I did not try out too many hair masques but after I got my hair coloured, the softness and shine just disappeared from my hair. So I tried the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque. I apply it for 20-30 minutes before I shampoo my hair and it leaves my hair very soft. I love its fragrance too.
I had never heard of this D&G No. 3 L’Imperatrice fragrance before. But I decided to give it a go when I was at the London duty free and this was on discount. I absolutely loved this one. I think I wore it every single day to work this past year. It is fruity but has a slightly musky note to it.
So these were my skincare favorites in 2015. Do let me know your most used products.
