My 2016 Skincare Favorites

2016 skincare favorites

As I told you all in My 2016 Makeup Favorites post, 2016 has been a good year in terms of discovering new products for me. Though I don’t experiment too much with skincare, I did try a good number of new products last year. So here is a round up of favorite skincare products from 2016…

Forest Essentials Delicate Facial Cleanser – True to its name, this Forest Essential face wash is very gentle on the skin. I used to use the Kashmiri Saffron and Neem one during summer season as it is meant for oily skin. During winter season I have switched to Mashorba Honey, Lemon and Rose Water.

Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream – It is a light weight but extremely moisturizing cream. It is non-greasy and keeps my skin hydrated the entire day. I use it as a day moisturizer with SPF as well as a night cream with Kiehls MRC.

Loreal UV Perfect Aqua Essence Sunscreen SPF 50+ – I have been using this one for about 2 years now. It is water based, hence feels extremely light on the face. It does not leave any white cast on the face.

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate – It is a lightweight facial oil intended for day time use. Despite being an oil, it absorbs very easily into the skin and keeps my skim looking fresh and plump.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – It has become my holy grail product. It feels and smells very calming. It gives a nice glow to the face with a good amount of nourishment and a fair bit of moisturization. Click here to read full review.

Kama Ayurveda Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil – We all know the benefits of coconut oil by now. I sometimes apply this coconut for extra hydration and moisturization to my face. I also apply this all over my body if my body feels parched and dry during the winter season.

Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay – Who doesn’t love a good multitasking product. This product from Origins is a mask with scrubby granules. It effectively deep cleanses, polishes and exfoliates the skin.

Innisfree Capsule Face Masks – This Korean Beauty brand has a variety of capsule and sheet masks available. I tried a couple of them and really liked some of them especially the Jeju Volcanic face mask for oily skin and big pores. A detailed blog post coming soon.

The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Body Scrub – I think this was limited edition. This body scrub looks like raspberry jam and trust me I could eat it up. It smells delectable. It feels fairly gritty and not abrasive at all.

Nivea Cream Coconut Cream Shower – A very underrated product, this body wash smells yummy ! It makes my skin feel very soft and moisturized.

Forest Essentials Bath and Shower Oil in Nargis – An absolute treat for the body, this shower oil leaves my body feeling soft and moisturized though out the day. It gets easily absorbed onto the skin without leaving any traces of oil on the body.

Kerastase Specifique Bain Divalent Balancing Shampoo – This shampoo meant for combination hair – oily roots and dry ends, cleanses the scalp thoroughly without stripping the hair of its natural oils. Click here to read full review.

OGX Cherry Blossom Conditioner – It is a very sweet smelling, hydrating conditioner. It makes my hair feel smooth and shiny and does not weigh down my hair.

Nina Ricci Premier Jour EDP and the Victoria’s Secret Love Spell Mist were my most used fragrances last year.
