If you are a beauty blogger you end up trying out so many new products. But not all of them speak to you. However, every once in a while you do find some things that overtime tend to become your holy grail products. I do try and test out all the products that I talk about either here on my blog or on my YouTube channel. Makeup products are easier to make your mind about, but skincare items take a while to show their efficacy and results.
Here are few products that I have tried recently, some are new launches, some have been in the market for a long time, but I have tried them for the first time, that might stick around in my beauty cupboard for a long long time.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
I cant even begin to tell you how much I waited for this palette. We dont get ABH here in India. So I thought of ordering it from the US, but unfortunately no one was coming back to India. Finally, despite knowing that I would have to pay customs duty, I made the order on Cultbeauty.com. I did have to pay 40% customs duty, but nonetheless, I was very excited to finally get my hands on this palette. The shadows are pigmented, blend like a dream, the color selection is an amazing mix of neutrals and bold, but yet wearable shadows. It has more of mattes and only about three shimmers, but Primavera (shimmer shade) can be used as a topped on every shade.
Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink
So after hearing so much about Milani blushes, when they finally launched in India, I had to get my hands on at least one of them. I got the baked blush instead of the other ones which a have a rose pattern because I dont own a single blush with shimmer. I would say that it is not an every day, office type blush because of the shimmer. But it definitely makes for an amazing party blush. I do mostly skip highlighter when applying this one. The pigmentation is great, the shimmer is beautiful gold shimmer. What I love is that the pink is not so bright that it makes you look like a clown, but it gives a very nice rosy flush to your cheeks.
YBP Makeup Perfector Sponge
The invention of the beauty blender was one of the greatest discoveries in the beauty world, in my opinion. I dont know any other way to apply makeup now. I have tried a few makeup sponges, but nothing compares to the original Beauty Blender. But recently I tried the YBP Makeup Perfector and I must say, it is veryyyy close to the original one. It is not as spongey as the beauty blender but not as hard as the other sponges. Gives a flawless finish. It washes really well, I would say about 90% of the makeup comes off if you just wash it with simple liquid soap.
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
I somehow dont end up using a cleansing balm or oil during summers, but in fall and winter season, when the skin becomes dry, I like to switch up my cleanser to something more moisturising. Dont get me wrong, my Bioderma micellar water is my HOLY GRAIL and it doesnt strip off the skin even one bit. A little goes a long way when it comes to this Clinique Take The Day Off Balm. It gets rid of almost all the makeup, including mascara, but I do like to go in with a gentle face wash for a double cleanse.
Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum
This Korean skincare brand is probably one of my favourite skincare brands, along with The Face Shop. Suddenly I feel that all my skincare products have gotten over – my day serum, night serum, eye cream. and buying all these together will give me (and my husband) a mini heart attack. I recently bought this in place of my Kiehls Daily Recovery Concentrate (the day serum). I claims to hydrate the skin and retain skin’s moisture. I have been using it for around 2 weeks now and i definitely find my skin looked plumper. You are supposed to apply this right after you wash your face, before the toner or any other thing. It is light weight and gets absorbed very quickly on the skin.
I will be doing a round up of new beauty favorites every few months. I did a post earlier [read here] which was only about skincare products. Hope you enjoyed reading it.
