New Skincare Discoveries

skincare discoveries,

My skincare routine is something that stays constant. I don’t experiment a lot with skincare products. If something suits me, I stick with it for a long long time. Having said that, I do like to try some new things every now and then. Some stick some don’t. Sometimes I just get bored using the same products over and over. I have been trying some new products lately and I must tell you, I have found some gems out there.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I don’t think I can use anything other than micelllar waters to remove makeup now. I have been using the Bioderma Micellar Water since a few years now and I wasn’t even looking for an alternative. But when I was in London last month, I happened to come across this micellar water from Garnier. I had heard a few good reviews about this one so when I saw a huge bottle of this one which was priced at half of the Bioderma one so I picked it up. And I don’t regret it. It does exactly what the Bioderma one does. It is very gentle on the skin and quite effective. I wish this was available here in India.

Kama Pure Rose Water Spray

I have never been a fan of facial mists. I do like to buy them but honestly, I just forget to include them in my skincare routine. I got this Kama Rose Water Spray in a set on my birthday. I just started using it because it is so hot these days and I felt I needed something refreshing throughout the day. I not only use it as a toner now, but also use spray it to moisten my face before applying face masks, mix it with some face masks, as an after shave spray to soothe the skin. Plus, I love how it smells.

The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%

After seeing all the hype in the beauty world around The (not so) Ordinary products I decided to give in. I called for a few items from there. I do like the other two but I love this one. This brand deserves a dedicated post, which I will do once I receive some other products I have ordered. Being my first retiniod product, I was surprised that it didn’t irritate my skin at all. I know that the results will take time to show on the skin but I have noticed that my skin feels plumper.

Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion

I am sure if you have been following me for a while now you would know how much I love Forest Essentials. I had been using the Olay Regenerist Day Cream but was on the look out for a new one but something not very expensive. So I got this one. It is a simple day moisturizer with SPF 25. It is not heavy and perfect for summers.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Sleeping Cream

This one has got a blend of 7 different essential oils. The consistency feels somewhere in-between a gel and a cream. It is extremely moisturizing and exactly what my skin needs at night. It does take a few minutes to skin into the skin but I wake up to plumper looking skin. In my opinion, this cream will be best suited for girls with dry skin. Oily skin girls should test it out before using it. A little goes a long way with this one.

Bioderma Atoderm Lipbalm

I have extremely dry and chapped lips. No matter what I do, they just don’t seem to get okay. I was watching one of Lily Pebbles vlogs where she mentioned that her lips are chapped and cracked and I just realized that my lips are going through the exact same thing. She mentioned this lipbalm so I decided to pick it up when I was in London. The Atoderm range is designed for extremely dry skin. It is a simple lip balm, not greasy and does its job extremely well. I regret not picking up more of these because I have been using this every single day.
