I love the idea of being organized and utilizing each and every hour of my day efficiently. But laziness takes over the better of me more often than not. I try to be more time efficient by makings to-do lists and all. So this year I decided to keep a physical planner.
I am using the Nirmala Franklin Planner (www.nirmalafranklin.com). It is a weekly, coil bound planner. The planner comes in a few different covers. I have the Rainbow cover. The cover is laminated, which makes it easier to carry around in your bags. You know it won’t start tearing off in a few months time. Each monthly section is tabbed, which is perfect because you can just open that tab instead of flipping and locating a particular month.
Once you open the planner there are two pages of positive quotes. On one of the pages I have put up my 2016 resolutions so that whenever I open my planner I can see my goals written down and am reminded of keeping up with them. Next you have the year 2016 at a glance. I have marked out birthdays of my family here.
Each month starts with the month’s over view. The space provided is sufficient to write down important events or appointments. I use this place to plan my blog posts. I have written down the posts on post-it flags so that in case I change my mind about a post later I can just pull out the post-it and put another one instead. On the side there is a column for notes.
The week is spread across two pages and is divided into ‘Morning’ ‘Day’ and ‘Night’. It also has a ‘Goals and To Do’ section on the left. I have attached a ‘To Do’ list where I write down all the tasks I need to finish that week and then everyday before I start my day see which tasks I can finish that day.
The planner also comes with an expenses and contacts section. After that there are a few extra pages for notes and the 2017 calendar. It also includes a few stickers for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Party, Parlour etc. and a sheet of blank ones that you can customize. A few gift labels and stickers are also comes with the planner.
At the end there is a pocket called ‘Keep It Together’ where you can store important papers. The planner, very thoughtfully, includes a clear plastic zip lock at the end to store things. For now I have just put up a few picture of my husband and me.
This is perfect for keeping me organized and getting tasks done. I carry it around with me everywhere. I use the Notes section to quickly note anything important or if I get an idea for a blog post. I have ordered some planner stickers from Etsy, which are on their way, to decorate my planner. You can buy these planners from www.nirmalafranklin.com
