Every single beauty girl owns at least one product from MAC. With so many different brands launching new products every few months, I still find myself going back to MAC most times. When you want something tried and tested, you head to MAC. But sometimes it gets a little over-whelming to enter a MAC store and pick out a lipstick from that huge range of lipsticks and finishes. Here are some of my favourite MAC lipsticks that suit most Indian skintones.
L-R: Cosmo, See Sheer, Ruby Woo, Taupe, Chatterbox, Fanfare, Twig, Vegas Volt
This one has become a favorite of mine. It is an amplified finish, which means it is quite creamy with a long lasting formula. It lasts a very long time on my lips and especially if I add a lip pencil to it. It is a pinkish brownish lipstick. It goes well with just about everything, whether it is bold eye makeup or a subtle everyday look.
- See Sheer
It is a peachy coral with a lustre finish, which means that it looks little glossy on the lips. It does look different on different people. If you are scared of wearing coral lipsticks, give this one a go as it is not the in-your-face coral but one that every one can carry off well. It stays for about 2-3 hours.
- Ruby Woo
This one needs no introduction. It is a retro-matte finish, which means that it is quite matte. This one just does not budge. I need to remove it with a makeup remover. It is a red lipstick with blue undertones. It suits every skintone. It instantly brightens my face. However, it does feel very drying on the lips while applying.
It is a reddish-brown nude. It is a matte finish. It lasts for a good 3-4 hours, sometimes more if I don’t eat up the lipstick. This is one nude that looks good on almost every Indian skintone. I also use Taupe to lighten any bright lipstick that I am wearing.
I do not have a swatch for Chilli right now, instead, by mistake I clicked Chatterbox, but for girls who are afraid of wearing red, they must try this. It is a muted brownish red with hints of orange. It suits Indian skintone perfectly. It is a matte finish lipstick. I call Chilli my ‘subtle glam’ lipstick. Whenever I am in the mood for a red, but don’t want to over do it with a bright one, I go for this.
It is a muted pink lipstick with a cremesheen finish, which means that it quite shiny. However, when applied, it doesn’t look that shiny on my lips. It feels thick and creamy. I love this one because it is an everyday pink. You can team it up with just about anything, including Indian outfits. It lasts decently for about 2-3 hours on my lips.
Twig is a brownish pink lipstick with a satin finish which means that it is semi matte. it doesn’t feel like a matte lipstick when applying. It is quite smooth and lasts for about 4-5 hours. It used to be my everyday work lipsticks for the longest time. It is very similar to Cosmo, just a little more brownish and darker.
- Vegas Volt
This was probably my first every MAC lipstick, and I absolutely love it. It is a bright-pinkish coral. It is an amplified finish. It brightens my face instantly, just like Ruby Woo. It stays for really long, say about 4-5 hours.
